Many Faiths, One Nation: our vision for Malaysia

HAJJAH ILANI A TRUE MALAYSIAN

24.02.2011

The Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) is deeply saddened by the untimely death of Datuk Hajjah Ilani bt Dato’ Hj Isahak.

She was a true Malaysian who was very passionate about building bridges and bringing healing in the nation. In spite of her illness she took the challenges to work for the success of the Jawatankuasa Mempromosikan Persefahaman dan Keharmonian di antara Penganut Agama. Her persistence and perseverance in meeting all the various religious leaders brought forth a team that was able to appreciate mutual respect and confidences amongst the members.

Even when she was in hospital she communicated through her brother Dr. Amir Farid bin Dato’ Hj Isahak, that she would like to meet the religious leaders.

MCCBCHST religious leaders met her on Monday 21st February 2011 at Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM).

Her message to us was “If you love me please make the Jawatankuasa Mempromosikan Persefahaman dan Keharmonian di antara Penganut Agama a success”.

We assured her that we will work together to make her dream a reality.

Reverend Dr. Thomas Philips
President
MCCBCHST
